  • “Happy spring from Common Threads! As the weather is warming up, we are enjoying springtime in the garden with classes. Students at Roosevelt have been planting corn, broccoli, and lettuces while learning about pollination. We are looking for families to help with summer garden care so that the garden will continue to grow and thrive throughout the summer months. This way, students can return to a well-tended, bountiful garden in the fall. Volunteers sign up for one week at a time to water, weed, harvest, and sow new crops throughout the summer (6/19-8/28) Please sign up online:  Or email Roosevelt’s Food Educator, June at As you may know, Common Threads is a volunteer- and community-supported local nonprofit organization with a mission to connect kids to healthy food through seed to table education. If you like our mission, our programs, our community, we’d love to hear from you! “

We wanted to let you know that there is still space in our Garden club! Class begins next Tuesday, May 16 and runs through May 6 (4 weeks) 3-4:30 in the art center. Class is open to 3-5th graders. More registration flyers available in the office. Please turn in by Monday, May 15th.
